9th Ward Pride

 I met Antoine as he was knocking on the door of his cousin’s house whom he had not seen in 2 1/2 years. His cousin wasn’t home. Antoine is 72 and he told me he had lived in the 9th Ward District in New Orleans next to the levee since the 50’s. He had gotten married in a house a few blocks away which is no longer standing and yet he is determined to move back 3 blocks from his cousin. |
